7 more shot dead, over 50 culprits arrested in Karachi
KARACHI: At least seven more were shot dead in different areas and over 50 culprits were arrested by the law enforcement agencies on Tuesday in Karachi, SAMAA reports. Killings and firings seem unstoppable while local police look helpless to curb target killings and incidents of violence in the metropolis as many lost their lives on Tuesday and opening hours of this day. Some armed terrorists opened fire at a tea shop in Orangi Town’s Aligarh Bazaar and killed tea shop owner Muhammad Bashir and a vegetable vendor Shahid on the spot. According to eye witnesses, the armed attackers were riding pillion on motor–bikes and few policemen were present near the scene but still terrorists killed people easily and fled away.
An excise police constable Jamal Raza was shot dead in Mominabad, 30-year old Shahid was gunned down in Sector-48-B of Korangi Town, another youth Ali Haider fall prey of indiscriminate shooting near Katti Pahari and another person los life in firing at Orangi Town’s No-13 area on Tuesday.
After completion of death toll to six on Tuesday, the killings continued on next day and another person was targeted in next few hours of this day.
Apart from the killings, the law enforcement agencies continued raids and targeted operation in different parts of the city and arrested over 50 accused and culprits.
The CID police raided in various areas and seized weapons, hand grenades and explosives while rangers arrested 57 culprits during targeted operation in Bilal Colony, Shamsi Colony, Model Colony, Gulshan-e-Maimar, Awami Colony and other areas of the metropolis.
