Chiniot: 2 gunned down on return from court hearing
CHINIOT: Two persons were gunned down on the way back from courts while a minor boy was crushed to death here separately on Tuesday. As per detail, Qasim Ali and Mohammad Nawaz, sons of Siraj Din, a resident of Asian village were returning after appearing in District and Sessions court. When they reached near Tahir Abad on Pindi Bhattian Road, some 12–km from here, notorious proclaimed offender Maqsood Ali alias Maqsoodi, lying in wait in crop fields, ambushed them. As a result, Qasim died on the spot while Nawaz sustained critical wounds and breathed his last in the hospital. The Saddr Police have registered a case against the accused who succeeded in fleeing the scene.
It may be recalled here that Maqssodi, involved in dozens of heinous crimes, has become a challenge for the district police. He was once arrested but managed to escape by cutting rooftop of the vehicle used to transport prisoners on return from a court hearing. Meanwhile, a child died in road accident. Aon Ali, 10-year-child, son of Sarfraz Ahmad, a resident of Rajoa Sadat was going on road when a speeding FDH–7995 crushed him to death. The Rajoa Police registered a case of the incident.
