Karachi: 9 hand grenades recovered
KARACHI: Manghopir police on Tuesday found at least nine locally made hand grenades from an empty plot in Kanwari colony area. An official said that on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Kanwari colony area and found at least nine hand grenades packed in a bag. Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) rushed to the scene and took them into custody to determine the nature of explosives. The official said that after the news of grenades recovery, panic and fear gripped the locality.
He said that these grenades had to be used in the terror activities during the month of Muharram to create law and order situation in the city. A BDS official said that the grenades were locally made and each of them contained 200 grammes of weight. Further investigation was underway.
