Karachi: Terror grips Karachi as 90 die in 6 days
KARACHI: As many as 90 people have succumbed to the ongoing spate of violence in Karachi over the last six days, SAMAA reported on Tuesday. Victims included a noted religious scholar, seminary students, a doctor and other innocent civilians. Fear and insecurity have gripped almost every part of Karachi but Central and West districts turned out to the most affected areas. On Nov 7, unknown gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on a hotel, leaving six seminary students dead. Violence broke out in District East when renowned Shia scholar Allama Aftab Haider was gunned down. The violence spread to Central District also, affecting Liaquatabad, Gulberg and Federal B. Area.
Funeral prayers for most of the victims were offered in Central District. As a result, situation remained tense along Shahra-e-Pakistan, Nagan Chorangi, North Nazimabad. Seven people lost their lives in firing incidents in Orangi Town. In one such incident, a man was killed along with his two sons.
