Lahore: Woman deprived of Rs6m in cash, gold
LAHORE: Unidentified people looted cash and jewellery worth Rs6 million from a woman and held her hostage for two hours before dropping her near her house in the Defence Housing Authority on Wednesday. Amber Bokhari of A-Block complained to the police she was on her way home after withdrawing cash from a bank when two cars intercepted her vehicle. The car–riders snatched her purse and a cell phone, and asked her to withdraw more cash and gold ornaments from the bank as her children — Aiman and Qasim — were in their custody. The woman brought cash and jewellery from the bank and handed over the same to the suspects who then took the woman along with them and later dropped her near her house.
Defence circle ASP Farrukh Raza said apparently the suspects looted cash and valuables by keeping the victim under pressure. “There is no headway in the case as our investigation is at early stage,” he said. Defence–B police have registered a case against unidentified car-riders.
