Karachi: Outlaw killed in shootout; youth ends life
KARACHI: An outlaw was killed in a shootout in Metrovile area, while in another incident a youth committed suicide in Muzaffar Colony on Sunday. An alleged miscreant succumbed to gunshot wounds he received in an encounter in Metrovile area after he allegedly shot and wounded a youth, namely Jameel Ahmed, 22, son of Ali Khan, who was sitting outside his shop. The attacker, Shamsuddin, who came on a motorbike, was trying to escape when a police party reached there after the reverberation of the gunshot he had made.
Upon seeing police personnel, the culprit opened fire at their vehicle. As the attack was repulsed, a bullet hit the culprit and he fell off his bike. The police party ferried him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died.
However, the injured youth was stated to be in serious condition at Civil Hospital Karachi. The motive behind the attack on him could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
In Muzaffar Colony, a young man commited suicide over unknown reasons. Police officials said the deceased, Waheed Shah, 19, son of Saeed Shah, ended his life with his friend’s pistol. The body was shifted to JPMC for autopsy.
The officials said his friend, namely Abdul Rauf, who shared the cottage with Shah, had been arrested for questioning. They however believed that it was a suicide. Further investigation is underway.
