Rawalpindi: Bid to smuggle heroin abroad foiled
RAWALPINDI: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiling a bid to smuggle heroin powder to Arab countries has arrested a drug pusher from Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA), ANF said. The ANF stated that the smuggler was linked with an international racket of drug pushers which is involved in worldwide supply of drugs. The ANF sources said that the authorities upon receiving information about the activities of the drug mafia put the ANF staff at BBIA on high alert, adding that a passenger, identified as Muhanmad Abdullah Amin, son of Ghulam Muhammad, hailing from District Sargodha (bearing Passport No. DC–1204351), was proceeding to Dammam by flight NL-713 at 2.30 a.m. on Saturday.
When the tipped-off passenger reached at the ANF counter for luggage checking, the ANF staff separated him and took him to investigation room and recovered two–kilogram heroin concealed in secret parts of his luggage, the ANF said, adding that the suspect disclosed the identity of the drug mafia people active in Pakistan. Teams have been sent to arrest the remaining members of the racket, ANF added.
