Wazirabad: Dacoits take away Rs12m valuables in 4 strikes
WAZIRABAD: Armed robbers went berserk, taking away gold ornaments, cash, cellphones and other valuables worth Rs12 million in four strikes over the past 24 hours. As per detail, dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Amjad alias Billoo, a resident of village Thatti Arian. They made all family members hostage, locked them in a room and looted 175 grams of gold ornaments, Rs34,000 and cellphones. Similarly, dacoity occurred in Village Kot Shera at the house of Usman, son of Khalid. The culprits took away 110 grams of gold ornaments, Rs15,000 and a cellphone from there.
In another incident, 14 dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Nazeer Warriach in village Veroki. They looted 220 grams of gold ornaments, 2,000 Euro, Rs50,000, a 7 mm gun and two cellphones.
Meanwhile, four armed dacoits trespassed into house in Ghulam Muhammad Colony in broad daylight where women were busy in a marriage ceremony. Bridegroom M Tanveer, went to park his car away from the house. The dacoits made hostages bride guests, host women and children and locked them in a room. They looted gold ornaments weighing 1.16-kg and Rs0.6m from all women including bride. Tanveer had returned from Spain for his marriage and his brother Muhammad Muneer from Saudi Arabia to attend the wedding of his brother.
They also opened fire to keep the neighbours away and managed to escape on motorcycles. It is to be noted that there are several cases of docoity in which police did not register the FIR. Sequentially, incidents of dacoity have put the citizens in fear and asking each other for solution of it.
Punjab IGP Haji Habibur Rehman had visited Wazirabad and claimed that either rascals would go underground or would be no more.
