Karachi: FIR against policemen ordered
KARACHI: A sessions court on Tuesday directed the Super Market SHO to register a criminal case against some policemen for allegedly trespassing into the house of a woman and committing a robbery. Judge Shoukat Ali Memon directed the station house officer to record the statement of applicant Huma and register a first information report against Inspector Sohail and others if a cognizable offence was found. The petitioner through her counsel Nasir Ahmed had filed an application under Section 22-A of the criminal procedure code in court, stating that the police inspector and his subordinates brought her handcuffed husband to her house on Nov 8.
She alleged that the policemen deprived the family of valuables and hurled threats at them before taking away her husband. She submitted that she approached the police station concerned but the police refused to register a case. She prayed to the court to direct the SHO concerned to register an FIR on her complaint. The applicant was directed to approach the police station concerned for recording her statement. The court ordered the SHO to act in accordance with the law if a cognisable offence was made.
