Sahiwal: Probe into torture of murder accused ordered
SAHIWAL: City DSP Zafar Dogar Tuesday ordered an inquiry into the torture of a murder accused in a police lockup and sought a report within three days from Fatah Sher Colony Police SHO. Complainant Muhammad Hanif of Chak 55–SP in his complaint told the DSP that his young son Muhammad Nawaz was in the custody of Police Fatah Sher Colony in a murder case. He said when he met his son on Monday, his son was well, but on Tuesday when he met his son he was laying in the lockup and he told him that the police tortured him in the presence of Abdul Majeed, complainant in the murder case.
He said his son was brought out from the lockup by Mirza Ismail, sub–inspector, and tortured by the police and Abdul Majeed in front of the SI. Complainant Muhammad Hanif appealed to Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Ch for action against the police officials for nominated his son in a fake murder case of his father-in-law. He said his father-in-law died after heart attack.
