Rawalpindi: Woman seeks arrest of daughters’ killer
RAWALPINDI: A widow appealed to the City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokher to direct the Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Jatli to arrest the killer of her daughter and granddaughter. Mukhtiar Begum, widow of Noor Elahi, resident of Mozia Bains Ratyal, Jatli, while talking to The Nation on Wednesday, said that her son-in-law Yaseen had shot dead her daughter Shahida Perveen, 40, and granddaughter Adiba on domestic issue on 28 August 2012 night. “After killing his wife and young daughter, Yasin hammered their heads and faces with an earth digging tool (Kassi) and fled away by taking his 12 years old son Osama with him,” said Muhktiar Begum.
A murder case No. 252 under section 302 of PPC was registered with PS Jatli on 29/8/2012, she said, adding that but since then the police have been using delaying tactics and not nabbing the killer. She alleged that the officials of PS Jatli were not cooperating with her and always misbehaved whenever she visited the police station for the arrest of the killer. The widow, while tears rolling on her cheeks, said that she had also provided the police with mobile data of the killer Yasin, which showed his presence in District Bunir of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but no raid was conducted there so far.
She said that the killer and his family members were pressurising her to settle the dispute with them or else they would kill her.
“I appeal CPO Azhar Hameed Khokher to come forward to rescue me from the suppression of the killer’s family and ask police to nab the killer,” Muhktiar Begum said in chocked voice.
