Lahore: Cough syrup case accused sent on 4-day remand
LAHORE: Judicial Magistrate Waseem Anjum on Saturday granted four–day remand of three accused of selling poisonous cough syrup. The Shahdra Town police produced accused Muhammad Rizwan owner of Ali Medical Store, Muhammad Fida of Bismillah Medical Store and distributor Muhammad Rauf before the court, seeking 10–day remand on plea to investigate them but the court granted four days physical remand. The court had also granted four days physical remand in previous proceeding.
Police had registered a case against the owner of syrup manufacturing factory and medical store owners on the complaint of Deputy Health Officer Dr Asim. The police arrested the accused including medical store owners and distributor. However, the owner of syrup manufacturing factory was still at large.
