Islamabad: 2 car-lifters arrested in capital
ISLAMABAD: Ramna Police Station on Thursday arrested two members of a gang involved in the sale and purchase of stolen cars and recovered three cars and fake registration books from their possession. The group was involved in purchasing stolen cars from FATA and reselling them on fake registration in Islamabad and other areas of the country. Saddar Zone SP Sajid Kayani had constituted a special team under the supervision of ASP Ramna Shakar Ahmed for the recovery of stolen cars.
The police team arrested Afghan national Hayat Khan, residing in Mardan, and Bakht, a resident of Golra, and recovered three cars. Islamabad IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Yasin Farooq, while appreciating the performance of Ramna Police Station, have announced commemoration certificates and cash awards for the police team. The Islamabad SSP has also directed police to further tightened surveillance on pickets and during patrolling in order to check activities of criminals.
