Multan: Accused held, rifle recovered
MULTAN: The police claimed to have arrested an accused allegedly involved in the firing incident that scared and forced female members of a polio team to run away at Shah Faisal Colony here on Thursday. SSP Operations Gohar Nafees said they had arrested Saddam Hussain who fired shots to check his rifle, which scared Lady Health Workers Khalida and Asia. He said that the rifle had also been recovered. He added that raids were being conducted to arrest the accused’s accomplice. He said both the lady health workers remained unhurt in the incident.
He added shots were fired from a cattle pen near the house of Ameer Khan Pathan where the LHWs had reached to administer vaccine to remaining kids on the extended fourth day of the three-day campaign which concluded on Thursday.
