Rawalpindi: 5 drug smugglers held
RAWALPINDI: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five members of drug–dealing rackets in two hits in Rawalpindi and Attock, recovering a massive quantity of acetic anhydride used in preparing heroin powder and hashish, sources in the ANF said. The ANF, in a raid on a hideout at the DHA Phase-II, arrested four members of a drug mafia, linked with international drug mafia, and recovered two kilograms of hashish.
The ANF, following the statements of the suspects, said that the racket was operating at the DHA Phase-II for a few months and used to smuggle narcotics to different parts of the world. The ANF conducted another raid at Attock in the early hours of Thursday and confiscated 74 litres of acidic hydride (acetic anhydride) and arrested a member of the mafia, the ANF said, adding that acidic hydride is a controlled substance and it is used in making heroin powder.
