Karachi: 3 ‘target killers’ held
KARACHI: Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorist and Financial Crime Unit (CTFCU) of the CID arrested two activists of Lashker-e-Jhangvi involved in target killing incidents. According to SSP Raja Umer Khattab of CTFCU, they received a tip that some wanted target killers were present in Sultanabad area in Manghopir police limits. Consequently, a raiding party was dispatched to their hideout, which arrested Kashif alias Shooter and Tariq after a brief encounter and recovered two TT pistols and a Kalashnikov from their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects told the police that they had killed 11 people including the activists of Sunni Tehreek and Shia community members in New Karachi and Bilal Colony police jurisdiction.
In another raid the CID unit arrested Syed Baqar Ali, an activist of a banded organisation, from Baldia Town and recovered arms and ammunition from him. He was allegedly involved in target killing incidents.
