Rawalpindi: Pindi police arrests 52 people
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police have arrested 52 suspected lawbreakers including 35 gamblers and two drunkards from different locations in the city. According to reports, police recovered 560 grammes of charas, 25 bottles of liquor, eight 30–bore pistols with 2,517 rounds of ammo and a 12–bore gun with four rounds of ammo from the arrested suspects. On the other hand, New Town police detained two drunkards identified as Zaigham and Faisal. The suspects were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, Race Course police conducted a raid at the Race Course Bazaar after being tipped off. Police arrested 35 alleged gamblers, as they were allegedly involved in betting in a cockfight. Police recovered the stake money which amounted to Rs 4,144,030 mobile phones, cocks and other items from their possession.
