Lalamusa: Woman, kin held for kidnapping student
LALAMUSA: The City police have arrested a woman and her relatives on the charge of kidnapping a prep class student for a ransom of Rs 10 million on Wednesday. Naureen Bibi, wife of Norway-returned Abdul Hameed Mirza and a resident of Mohallah Qali Gran, told the police that her maid Kiran Bibi with her accomplices had kidnapped her son Sikandar when he was returning from a tuition centre near Gala Mandi. She said that the kidnappers had demanded Rs 10 million for the release of her son.
After registering the case, the police raided different places, including Kotla Qasim village, and arrested Kiran and her relatives. The victim family is also approaching the Norwegian Embassy for help. When contacted, City SHO Riaz Kadhar confirmed the arrest of the nominated accused. He said that they had not yet recovered the abductee.
