Lahore: 9 member gang busted
LAHORE: CIA Sadar police claimed to have arrested nine members of an inter–district gang of criminals on Thursday involved in a number of cases of dacoity and robbery. According to details, CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen gave the task of apprehending the criminals to the operations and investigation wings. DIG Investigation Ch Shafiq Ahmed and DIG Operations, Muhammad Tahir Rai constituted special police teams in this regard.
The police team nabbed nine members of inter–district Khada dacoit gang including Jehangir alias Khada, Tauqeedul Hassan alias Peeda, Kashif alias Kashi, Kashif, Nadeem alias Deemi, Sarwar, Imran Ali, Shabeer alias Bheela, Mudassar Nazar and Abu Bakar.
Two stolen motorcycles, rupees five lakh seventy–five thousand in cash and firearms were recovered from criminals.
It is worth mentioning that the accused are hardened criminals and have gone to jail many times. Three other accomplices of the criminals Malik Ali, Malik Amjad and Babar are still at large and the police was conducting raids for their arrest. The criminals during interrogation confessed to more than forty incidents of dacoity and robbery in the areas of police stations Iqbal Town, Sabzazar, Kot Lakhpat, Barki, Nawab Town, Shahdara Town, Hinjarwal, Gulshan Iqbal, Sadar Renala Khurd, Okara, Sadar Pattoki, Phoolnagar and Kot Radha Kishan district Kasur while cases have also been traced against them in other districts.
