Islamabad: Nilore Police recover 303 kilograms of hashish
ISLAMABAD: The Nilore Police on Sunday foiled a bid of drug smuggling and recovered 303 kilograms of hashish, which was to be transported to other parts of the country, the police spokesman said. During checking at entry and exit points of the city to curb activities of anti-social elements, a team led by DSP Khurshid Khan got information about the smuggling bid of huge quantity of hashish. The team intercepted a car (LZL-3731) at Lehtrar Road being driven by Waheedullah, son of Malal Khan, a resident of Bostan Colony, Shaheen Muslim Town, Peshawar, and recovered 203 kilograms of hashish concealed in crates of fruits to deceive police in case of checking.
Police started investigation from the accused and he revealed that he was to supply this huge quantity of hashish to Zaafran, a resident of Chirah village, from where it had to be transported to various parts of the country, including Rawalpindi, Dina, Sahiwal, Shahdra, Arifwala, Burewala and Vehari. He also disclosed to the police team about the house of Zaafran from where police later recovered 100 kilograms of hashish. The accused, Zaafran alias Khani, has already involved in drug smuggling activities and several cases have been registered against him. Police have started search for the absconding smuggler and further investigation was underway from the nabbed criminal too.
