Islamabad: Police recover illegal weapons
ISLAMABAD: The Shahzad Town Police on Sunday arrested a man after recovery of a huge cache of illegal weapons hidden in a locked shop at Alipur Farash, the police spokesman said. Sub-Inspector Anees Akbar arrested Shoaib, son of Aziz Khan Afridi, resident of Peshawar, from Taramri Chowk after recovery of three pistols from his possession. Police registered a case against him. During investigation, the arrested man revealed about a cache of illegal weapons that he had concealed in a shop at Alipur Farash, Islamabad.
A police team, supervised by DSP Arshad Khokhar and including Shahzad Town Police Station SHO Fiaz Ranjha and Sub–Inspector Anees Akbar, raided the shop and recovered 27 guns of 12–bore, 14 7-mm rifles, two 222-bore rifles, two Kalashnikovs, one 44–bore rifle, 44 pistols of 30–bore, one 38-bore revolver, one 9-mm pistol, one 22-bore pistol and 9,504 rounds.
