Islamabad: 80 outlaws held in January
ISLAMABAD: Rural Zone of Islamabad Police have arrested 80 outlaws including 25 proclaimed offenders during last one month and recovered 291 kilograms of hashish, over 70 pistols and other sophisticated weapons from them. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, SP (Rural) Sardar Sadaqat said that special teams were constituted for effective crackdown against outlaws and proclaimed offenders in the rural area following the directions from IGP Islamabad Bani-Amin Khan.
He said that SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq also supervised the whole policing affairs during this period, encouraging the policemen to combat effectively against anti–social elements. Owing to his guidance and commitment of policemen, Rural Circle Police arrested 55 outlaws including 25 proclaimed offenders wanted to police for their involvement in crime of heinous nature.
DSP Khursheed Khan, DSP Arshad Khokhar and other senior police officials were also present on this occasion.
SP (Rural) said that police team of this zone recovered huge cache of illegal weapons, two cars and 291 kilograms of hashish from these nabbed criminals. The recovery of weapons, he said, included 70 pistols, guns and thousands of cartridges.
He said that Nilore Police team headed by DSP Khurshid Khan including SHO Asjad Altaf foiled bid of drug smuggling and recovered over seven mounds of hashish being transported to down parts of the country from Peshawar.
Sardar Sadaqat said that a police team supervised by DSP Arshad Khokhar, SHO Shehazad Town police station Fiaz Ranjha, Sub–Inspector Anees Akbar arrested Shoaib son of Aziz Khan and recovered huge cache of weapons after information revealed by him.
The weapons recovered from him included 27 guns of 12 bore, 14 rifles of 7 MM rifle, two 222 bore rifle, two Kalashnikov, one 44 bore rifle, 44 pistols of 30 bore, one 38 bore revolver, one 9 MM pistol, one 22 bore pistol and 9504 rounds hidden in a locked shop at ‘Alipur Farash’.
