Karachi: Customs seizes 4.5kg of heroin
KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs’ Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC), Jinnah International Airport Unit foiled an attempt to smuggle 4.5kg of heroin out of Pakistan on an aircraft. Qamar Thalho of the Customs said the DEC staff posted at the International Departure Hall of the airport seized 4.5kg of heroin powder concealed in cavities behind the covers of two toilets of the aircraft bound for London via Lahore. Following the recovery of heroin, a prosecution case under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act of 1997 was registered. Efforts are afoot to arrest the smuggling ring, Thalho said.
