Karachi: Huge cache of narcotics seized
KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guard and Pakistan Customs have claimed to seize huge quantity of narcotics in separate raids here on Tuesday. According to the statement, Pakistan Coast Guards seized fine quality of opium from Naka Khari check-post near Winder, Balochistan. The PCG officials, on a tip off, stopped passenger buses for checking at Naka Khari post near Winder.
In the wee hours of Tuesday, during checking of a passenger bus, the PCG officials recovered approximately 21 kilogrammes of opium from a couple, which was concealed in the clothes.
Both the passengers were taken into custody. The passenger bus was going from Kharan to Karachi. After complete search, the bus was released being a public carrier.
Further investigation and legal process is underway by the PCG.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Customs, Gawadar’s Anti Smuggling squad Khurkhara has claimed to seized 100kg hashish of worth Rs3,000,000 and 60kg opium liquid of worth Rs12,000,000 from a truck carrying apples from Quetta to Karachi.
Customs officials have arrested the truck driver while registered an FIR under Narcotics Act. Further investigation is under progress.
