Islamabad: CIA cop booked for taking bribe
ISLAMABAD: An investigation officer (IO) of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) was booked for taking bribe from the complainant of a case, police sources said on Friday. The CIA SP had appointed Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Tariq Rauf as inquiry officer to probe a case (FIR No. 353/12) registered with the Kohsar Police Station in 2012 under Section 382, police sources said.
They added that the IO summoned the complainant of the case, Raja Mohammad Kazim, before initiating investigation and straightaway demanded Rs15,000 as bribe to tilt the case in his favour.
The complainant lodged a complaint with the office of SP who ordered lodging of an FIR against the accused ASI. Consequently, the Industrial Area Police registered an FIR under Section 5/2/47 of ACA but didn’t arrest him.
