Rawalpindi: 6 terrorists sent on 4-day remand by ATC
RAWALPINDI: Anti–Terrorism Court (ATC) No-I, Rawalpindi judge Chaudhry Habib–ur–Rehman Friday sent on four–day physical remand of the six alleged terrorists. The alleged terrorists were arrested by Taxila police with explosives and lethal weapons from Kohistan Colony Taxila last Friday. The court ordered police to present alleged terrorists again on February 25 (Monday).
Police Station Taxila SHO, Inspector Muhammad Khan, requested to grant four days physical remand of the alleged terrorists Naseeb Shah, Rehman Shah, Alam Khan, Ghul Ghani, Fateh Gul and Gul Muhammad to further interrogate them.
The SHO, while talking to media persons, said that during the preliminary interrogation the arrested men had confessed to have committed heinous crimes in different areas of Rawalpindi and Gujar Khan.
He said that police would further interrogate the accused in which more revelations were expected. To a question, he said that the police on a tip off had arrested the suspected terrorists believed to be linked with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He added that huge cache of illegal weapons and explosive material were recovered from their possession. Police earlier brought the alleged terrorists to court amid tight security.
