Biggest shipment of liquor seized in Gwadar
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Customs authorities on Sunday seized one of the biggest consignments of liquor in Gwadar area as they intercepted 50,000 bottle of liquor, it is learnt. The Customs Intelligence and Marines Security Agency, in a joint action in area between Gwadar and Jiwini, intercepted ship having liquor of over 50,000 bottles. “Today, customs authorities seized one of the biggest consignments of liquor,” the FBR chairman told participants of international workshop organized by WB and FBR here on Sunday.
However, tax authorities told this scribe that Customs intelligence did not have ships for ensuring surveillance in deep sea area, so in collaboration with MSA, they conducted an operation and arrested five smugglers who had allegedly brought liquor from UAE and their destiny was Pasni.
