Islamabad: 7 gangs of robbers busted
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has busted seven gangs, comprising 35 gangsters, involved in armed robberies in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and their surrounding areas during the last 45 days. Special teams, headed by SP (Investigation) Mustansar Feroz, DSP Zubair Ahmad Shaikh, Inspector Ashraf Kahut, sub–inspectors Shams Akbar, Asghar Ali, Muhammad Ali, assistant sub–inspectors Altaf Hussain, Tasneem Ahmad and Darya Khan, arrested 152 accused.
Mobile phones, motorbikes, 33 pistols, fake registration books of vehicles, CNG kits, hashish, liquor, fake currency and other snatched items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were recovered from them.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed men at Margalla, Koral, Secretariat, Shahzad Town, Ramna, Nilore, Shalimar, Industrial Area and Sabzi Mandi police stations and investigation is underway.
