Karachi: Smuggled goods worth Rs220m seized
KARACHI: The anti–smuggling squad of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gwadar on Thursday arrested two smugglers and seized goods worth 220 million rupees, which were being illegally transported to Karachi. According to details, after receiving information, MCC staff started checking vehicles near Khurkera Custom Check Post. The officials signalled a truck to stop but the driver sped away instead.
The staff chased the vehicle and, after sometime, managed to intercept it. The two suspects, Sanaullah and Fazl ur Rehman, were taken into custody.
During the search of the truck, the custom officials seized goods which included ladies clothes, blankets, auto parts, rechargeable batteries and other items costing over Rs220 million.
