Rawalpindi: 180 litres of alcohol seized
RAWALPINDI: Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Riaz Ahmed Qureshi in the wee hours of Thursday recovered 180–litre alcohol and arrested an accused from Ganjmandi. The accused wanted to prepare fake liquor by mixing chemicals and different kinds of colours in alcohol for selling it in twin cities, the ETO claimed. The Ganjmandi Police Station registered a case against accused Khurram Khan and sent him to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
The ETO told ‘The News’ that the seized alcohol was of 96.1% strength and the accused wanted to prepare fake liquor by mixing dangerous chemicals and colours in it.
Excise and Taxation Inspector Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, Ibadat Hussain, Muhammad Razaq, Sufi Sarfraz and police officials conducted the raid.
