Okara: SHO among 20 cops booked
OKARA: Advocate Rao Javeed Iqbal submitted a compliant to the City Police against the Shergarh Police alleging that the police conducted a raid on his house and humiliated and misbehaved with his daughters, wife and other family members. He also alleged that the police also took away gold ornaments, Rs15,000 and 5 tolas of silver from his house.
As per detail, the Shergarh Police headed by SHO Mohammad Hanif, SI Mujahid Shah along with 15 to 20 police officials conducted a raid on Advocate Rao Javeed Iqbal house in Chak–32/1AL to arrest his cousin Nadeem Hashmat, a proclaimed offender. The lawyer said that when he learned of his cousin’s alleged criminal activities, he severed all ties with him. But the Shergarh Police SHO and other police officials had raided his house and manhandled his family members and also took away cash and gold ornaments. The City Police have registered a case against SHO, SI and ASI including 20 police officials under different sections. Meanwhile, on a tip-off the City Police unearthed a running distillery factory and seized 22 litres of liquor in village 1/SP. The vintners Irfan and Irshad took to their heels. After registering a case the police have started raids to apprehend the criminals.
