Karachi: MNA’s sons booked for thrashing govt officer’s son
KARACHI: Two sons of a PPP MNA were among six people booked on Wednesday for thrashing the son of a government officer in a brawl over a football match. A case was lodged at the Boat Basin police station against Rafay Jan Jakhrani and Haris Jakhrani, sons of ex–health minister Ijaz Ahmed Jakhrani, and four others for beating Ali Gohar Jamali, a student of Class XI.
Two groups of students scuffled at the Westminster School in Block 4 of Clifton in the morning after one of them won a football match against the other. Rafay, who was among one of the groups, called his guards there. The guards smacked Jamali at the back of his head with rifle butts. “We were informed that some students had clashed at the school and one of them was injured,” Clifton SDPO Nayarul Haq told The News.
Ali, who suffered head injuries, was taken to the JPMC. The police recorded Jamali’s statement and lodged an FIR. However, nobody has been arrested so far. Jamali is the son of a grade–21 officer and lives in DHA.
