Islamabad police has nabbed 92 suspects this year
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 92 criminals so far this year and have recovered over Rs. 57 million worth of stolen goods, said a police spokesman. On the directives of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, all police officials launched an aggressive campaign against crime.
The police also arrested 22 gamblers during various raids in the city and recovered stake money and other items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. According to police, 97 theft cases have been resolved and 195 suspects have been arrested. “It is our prime responsibility to protect the lives and property of the citizens. Police officials neglecting their duties or adopting a sluggish attitude would not be spared,” warned SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq.
Meanwhile, Cantonment Board Rawalpindi has launched an operation against encroachers in different areas fining 70 Shopkeepers and has confiscated two trucks loaded with counters and hand driven carts.
The administration has warned that stern action would be taken against any violations.
