Rahim Yar Khan: Woman, paramour held for killing husband
RAHIM YAR KHAN: A man was arrested from Faisalabad for allegedly helping a woman in killing her husband in Rahim Yar Khan three days ago. Reportedly, Tahira was arrested while the man identified as Naveed Ahmad fled the scene. Police said that he denied having helped the woman and no weapon was recovered from his house during search.
A-Division Police Investigation Officer Raees Ahmed said that the deceased Tanveer Ahmed, a resident of Usman Park, had married with Tahira Bibi in 2011. He said that Tahira had developed extramarital relation with Naveed, the couple’s common friend in Faisalabad.
The Police said that the woman invited Naveed for dinner and added intoxicants to the food of her husband. Resultantly he fell unconscious and they stabbed him.
The Police said that Naveed then left as part of their plan while Tahira started raising alarms, to paint the incident as killing on resistance by robbers.
Some neighbours who rushed to her help, said they were told that the robber had fled. Tanveer, who was still alive at that time, was taken to hospital where he expired after few hours.
The body was then sent for post–mortem. The police said they had arrested the woman on suspicion on the complaint of her father-in-law Mohammad Anwar. He alleged that some relatives had been talking about Tahira’s relations with Naveed, but, he added, “We did not believe them then”. He said the robbery story appeared suspicious as the lock of the main door was still intact and nothing had been taken from the house.
