Karachi: 18 suspects held in raids
KARACHI: Following the orders of Supreme Court, police conducted raids for the arrest of the culprits who were involved in the murder of Arshad Pappu in Lyari, here on Friday. Police conducted raids in various part of Lyari including Aath Chowk, Phool Patti Line, Dubai Chowk, Rangi Wara and Afshahani Gali and claimed to have arrested at least 18 suspects.
Police said that they also conducted a raid at deceased Reham Dakait residence, where they managed to arrest a suspect Kamran aka Kami who was also a closed relative of Rehman Dakiat. Police said they also apprehended some suspects who were involved in torturing Arshad Pappu. Sources privy to the matter disclosed that police failed to arrest the real culprits who was involved in the murder of Arshad Pappu while arrested several for the crowed who were present at the time of Arshad Pappu’s killing.
Meanwhile, rangers claimed to have apprehended at least 15 suspects during targeted raid at Chanesar Goth of Mehmodabad. Ranger’s spokesman said that they conduct a raid on a tip-off about the presence of drug peddlers. When they conducted a raid they managed to arrest at least 15 suspects including Moosa, Kabira, Nazeer and Ilyaz. They also recovered weapons of 25 calibers including Kalashnikov, TT pistols, a MP-5, police uniform, maximum quantity of bullets, drugs and a monitoring room from where they monitor law enforcer activities from their possession. However, police claimed to have arrested at least 97 suspects and recovered a huge amount of weapons in different targeted operations in the metropolis.
