4 carjackers, 2 gangs of robbers arrested in capital
ISLAMABAD: Four carjackers and two gangs of robbers wanted by police in several cases were arrested on Monday, the police spokesman said. Police teams, headed by CIA DSP Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, arrested three Afghan carjackers red–handed from the area of Tarnol Police Station. They were identified as Yar Muhammad, Lal Zada and Awal Khan. Police also arrested a car receiver, Dil Jan, son of Muhammad Jan, and recovered a stolen car and three pistols from him.
During initial investigation, the accused confessed to their involvement in car–lifting from various localities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Meanwhile, the CIA Police busted a gang of robbers in Sector G-8/1 and recovered three pistols from its members. The gangsters were identified as Nawaz, Alam Khan, Sadat Khan and Rehmdad.
Another police team arrested robbers identified as Aneel, Sikandar Jameel and Kashif who were wanted by police in several cases and recovered snatched cash of Rs70,000 from their possession.
