Rawalpindi: Man gets 8-year jail in drug case
RAWALPINDI: The Control of Narcotics Substance Court (CNSC) Special Judge Arshad Mehmood Tabbasum on Tuesday sentenced an accused to 8–year vigorous prison and fined in the 4-kg heroin recovery case. The accused Mir Khan was found guilty of having 4 kg heroin. The court sentenced him to 8 years vigorous imprisonment besides imposing Rs 200,000 as fine. The court also ordered that the accused would have to be remain behind the bars for 8 months in case of non–payment of fine.
Similarly, a magistrate extended the physical remand of Tauqeer Ali Khan, an alleged front man of PPP MNA Syed Ali Musa Gilani, for four days in illegal allocation of Ephedrine quota case.Muhammad Aslam, a magistrate of Narcotics Court, extended the physical remand of Taqueer Ali Khan in Ephedrine smuggling case. Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF) investigators produced the accused before the magistrate amid tight security and sought extension of his physical remand. The court also ordered the ANF to reproduce the accused before the court on 30 March 2013 for further proceeding. Earlier, the court handed over the accused to ANF for investigation for 7 days.
