Rawalpindi: Police keep boy in illegal detention
RAWALPINDI: Mehboob Alam, a staffer of ‘The News’ Rawalpindi, has appealed to RPO and CPO, Rawalpindi to take a look into the case of his nephew, Mohammad Niaz, who is missing in custody of Police Chowki Gondal, District Attock, since March 27, 2013. On the fateful day of March 15, 2013, two cousins Mohammad Abrar (30) son on Rab Nawaz and Mohammad Niaz (14) son of Mohammad Fayyaz, residents of Village Ziarat, District Attock, were on their way home, after delivering milk on their motorcycle when their rival group intercepted them and opened fire on Mohammad Abrar, killing him on the spot.
The assailants also beat up Mohammad Niaz and threatened to kill him too if he revealed their identity to the police. Police Chowki Gondal headed by SHO Sabir arrested three members of the assailant group. Ironically police also picked up Mohammad Niaz on March 27 and he is still missing. He has appealed to RPO and CPO Rawalpindi to take a notice of the matter and take prompt action for recovery of his nephew.
