Karachi: 2 ‘notorious robbers’ arrested in Lyari
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested two suspects in Lyari on Sunday. The two men allegedly belong to a notorious gang of robbers in interior Sindh and were wanted by police in a number of murder and kidnapping for ransom cases. CID (Operations) SSP Mohammed Fayyaz Khan said some wanted criminals were taking shelter at the hideout of a notorious group in Lyari. A police team was sent there to nab the suspects.
Upon seeing police, the outlaws opened fire and an encounter ensued following which Ghulam Haider alias Haidery and Ghulam Mustafa alias Gullu were arrested along with the recovery of two TT pistols, a Kalashnikov and a rocket launcher.
During interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they were affiliated with the gang of notorious dacoit of interior Sindh, Gulbahar Murgairee who was wanted by the police in a number of murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping for ransom cases.
The arrested suspects were wanted by the Garelo and Dokri police of Larkana in more than 22 cases. They had also allegedly killed three women in Garelo police limits in enmity.
SSP Khan said that the Police Department has sent a summary for the approval of the head money of Rs1 million for their arrest.
