Peshawar: Data of arrested children
PESHAWAR: The government has asked the concerned departments to cooperate with Child Protection and Welfare Commission (CPWC) in providing the data regarding children who are confined in jails or in custody of reclamation and probation department (RPD). Provincial police officer, IG prisons, DG prosecution and director reclamation and probation have been asked to provide the data containing exact facts and figures pertaining to the children who have either been arrested by provincial police, confined in jails or in the custody of RPD, according to a press release issued by the home and tribal affairs department on Sunday.
The authority has also been directed to nominate a focal person in their respective departments for better coordination with CPWC regarding sharing data on children within the parameters of existing laws and rules. The CPWC shall put robust confidentiality protocols to protect the sensitive data and obtain consent of the stakeholders before sharing it with a third party.
