Karachi: 11 ‘Bhalu group’ members held Rangers arrest 21 men in 2 raids
KARACHI: Eleven alleged criminals belonging to the Bhalu group were arrested during a targeted operation in Kati Pahari on Monday. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also seized from their hideout. Peerabad’s SDPO Zahid Siddiqi said that a reliable source tipped them that some associates of Bhalu Bhai were present in Katti Pahari. Acting on the information, a team of West range police and officials from Peerabad police station sealed all entry and exit points of the area. They then conducted a raid at the hideout of Bhalu Bhai and arrested 11 suspects.
During the search, they also seized two Kalashnikovs, a repeater rifle, two 9MM pistols, a TT pistol and five tennis ball bombs. They also found explosive material such as ball bearings, nuts and bolts used in the making of bombs.
The criminals were moved to an investigation unit. Meanwhile, Rangers’ personnel apprehended 21 suspected criminals, including activists of political parties, during two separate raids in the city.
After receiving a tip-off, Rangers held 18 suspects, including political parties’ activists, in the Model Colony area. A huge haul of weapons was also seized. In the second raid, three members of a banned organisation were arrested in the Mehmoodabad area and pistols were confiscated from them.
