Islamabad: Robbers’ gang busted; valuables and weapons seized
ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police on Wednesday busted a gang of robbers while nine other outlaws were arrested from various areas of the city, besides recovery of stolen motorbike, laptop and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said. According to details, SP (Investigation) Mustansar Feeroz constituted a special team to ensure the arrest of gangsters involved in various robbery incidents in the area of Bani Gala police station. This team headed by DSP Zubair Ahmed Sheik including Sub–Inspector Zulfiqar, ASI Tasneem Ahmed and other police officials started special vigilance in the area.
They managed to bust a gang of robbers that had been involved in various criminal activities in the area. The suspects have been identified as Adil, Waseem, Faisal and Haider Ali. CIA police also recovered two pistols and two daggers from their possession. Five robbery cases had already been registered against them at Bani Gala police station. CIA police has also arrested proclaimed offender Israr resident of Swabi who was wanted to police for his involvement in FIR No 05/02 registered at Kohsar police station under sections 420/ 468/ 471 PPC. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azam from CIA police arrested a thief Waheed and recovered a laptop from him while Sub–Inspector Athar Khan from Sabzi Mandi police station nabbed two auto–thieves and recovered a stolen bike from them.
Sub–Inspector Muhammad Tehseen and ASI Tanveer Ahmed from Golra police station arrested four accused Mudassar Razaaq, Tahir Mehmud, Barkat and Sadiq besides recovering two pistols and other items from their possession. ASI Muhammad Sadiq from Kohsar police station arrested a drunkard Shabbir. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. Inspector General of police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq have appreciated the overall performance and directed all police officials to remain vigilant.
