Karachi: Arms seized in police raid on New Chali office
KARACHI: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Thursday raided an office in New Chali area of Karachi and seized a large number of weapons, foiling what is said to be an imminent terrorism bid before general elections, Geo News reported. According to Geo News correspondent Zille Haider, police raided an office in New Chali area of Karachi and recovered a large number of weapons along with ammunition.
Talking to Geo News Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farooq Awan said that the seized weapons were to be used for carrying out acts of terrorism, possibly during or in the run up to the upcoming general elections.
He further told the media men that different types of advanced weapons including 4 Kalashnikovs, 3 repeaters, a G-3 riffle, a pash-pasha gun, OZ guns and a large number of ammunition were recovered in the raid.
