Islamabad: Gun-shop owner, 5 others arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Wednesday arrested six criminals from various areas of the city who were wanted in different cases, and recovered a huge cache of weapons from them, a police spokesman said. According to the details, Senior Superintendent Police Islamabad had assigned the task to Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) of the Crime Investigation Agency to take prompt action against those selling weapons illegally.
A special team, headed by the DSP, raided the arms and ammunition shop in Taramri Chowk and recovered five 12–bore rifles, three SMG guns, four pistols, one revolver and 50 bullets from it.
The accused, Pervez Khan, who was running the business illegally, was also arrested and investigations are underway.Meanwhile, Sub–Inspector Saleem Ullah from the CIA Police apprehended Sharif Ullah and recovered a 30–bore pistol from him.
Similarly, Assistant Sub–Inspector Shahid Munir from the Sabzi Mandi police arrested Zar Rasheed and recovered a 30-bore pistol from him.
ASI Mohammad Nawaz from the Margalla Police Station arrested a drunkard, Nasir Maroof, and recovered a bottle of wine from him.
ASI Mohammad Tariq Khan arrested two people, Ijaz Ahmed and Zafar Ali, for possessing illegal CNG kits. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigations are underway.
