OKARA: The Anti–Corruption Establishment caught Additional DHQ Hospital South City Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Ghaffar red–handed while receiving bribe. Nasir Bhatti, in an application to the sessions judge, stated that he had worked at different position in the Health Department. He said that he was appointed at ADHQ Hospital South City, but was terminated from service on corruption charges. He contended that Dr Abdul Ghaffar had demanded Rs 150,000 for his reinstatement, adding that he had paid a huge amount to Dr Abdul Ghaffar and was going to pay the remaining Rs 15,000 on Tuesday.
On the court orders, ACE Inspector Ghazanfar Kamboh with his staff arrested Dr Abdul Ghaffar red–handed. A case has been registered against the accused. Meanwhile, doctors, paramedics and other staffers blocked Okara–Depalpur Road outside ADHQ Hospital in protest for two hours. They alleged that the arrest was a conspiracy against the medical superintendent. They demanded immediate release of the medical superintendent. Earlier, the Lahore High Court had cancelled the bail of Nasir Bhatti. However, he had managed his bail somehow and submitted an application to the sessions judge.
