Rawalpindi: Hanif Abbasi booked for ransacking police barriers
RAWALPINDI: The Waris Khan police have booked PML–N candidate Hanif Abbasi, contesting election from NA-56 with 700 unknown supporters of the party for ransacking police barrier and damaging a government vehicle, police said. Akbar Abbas, Station House Officer (SHO) Kotli Satian Police Station, lodged a complaint with the Waris Khan police saying that he was on duty at Committee Chowk with police force and supervising a diversion when public rally led by former MNA Hanif Abbasi reached there and smashed away the police barrier set up for diversion and manhandled with the police personnel deployed there, adding that the participants of the rally damaged a government vehicle bearing RIB-1120 and passed away after ransacking the police barriers. The police have registered the case (FIR No. 362) under Sections 353, 427, 186, 147 and 148 PPC against Hanif Abbasi and 700 others.
