Rawalpindi: SC lawyer’s murder suspects arrested
RAWALPINDI: Police have succeeded to solve the mystery of a blind murder and arrested two alleged killers of Supreme Court lawyer Chaudhry Muhammad Khan along with three others who hired the killers. Chaudhry Muhammad Khan was murdered on March 28, 2013 near Fauji Foundation Hospital on GT Road when he was on his way in his jeep. The murder rattled the legal fraternity and the Supreme Court also took suo moto notice.
Talking to media persons at CIA Headquarter, City Police Officer (CPO) Abdul Razzaq Cheema told that finally police managed to arrest the killers of senior lawyer of SCP. “The lawyer was murdered over old enmity,” the CPO said.
According to Station House Officer Police Station (PS) Morgah, Abdul Sattar Khan, who is probing the case, the accused were identified as Waheed, Pervez, Khyber Shah, Arshad and Muhammad Din.
Crackdown on tax defaulters
The Punjab Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department sealed 55 properties over non-payment of tax on Wednesday.
A team of senior officials of Excise and Taxation Department raided at different places including Wapda Town, Valancia Society, Tariq Garden, PIA Society, Shadewal Pind and Satokatla and sealed commercial markets, shops, medical store, and beauty parlour.
