Karachi: Terrorist arrested from Manghopir, bomb seized
KARACHI: The city police conducted a targeted operation in the city area of Manghopir, Sultanabad on a secret tip–off and recovered pressure–cooker bomb, suicide jacket and pistol after arresting operative of an outlawed organization, SAMAA reported Thursday. According to police sources, a tip-off was received regarding the presence of terrorists in Sultanabad area of Manghopir. Police cordoned off the pinpointed house; however, the miscreants attacked them with gunfire.
SSP West Asif Aijaz Sheikh said it is yet to be discovered in interrogations as to where the bomb was going to be used; however, a well-organized group is busy with its terrorist activities in the city.
The arrested terrorist Qari Muhammed Ali revealed that he used to regularly receive directives for the killings of personnel of law–enforcement agencies.
The alleged saboteur confessed having killed ASI Maqbool and a Rangers troop Zahir Shah in Ittehad Town.
