Karachi police arrest 3 ‘Lyari gangsters’
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday claimed to have arrested three key accused of Lyari gang war, recovering weapons during a raid conducted in Sher Shah area of the city, Geo News reported. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) CID Chaudhary Aslam, his department has arrested three key accused of Lyari gang–war, identified as Abdul Malik, Muhammad Farooq and Aqeel Ahmed during a raid launched in Paracha Chowk in Sher Shah.
The CID has also recovered 3 hand grenades, 3 TT pistols and a motorbike from the possession of the accused, SSP added.
Mr. Aslam revealed that arrested accused Muhammad Farooq was wanted in more than ten cases, while the other accused Aqeel Ahmed allegedly attacked a political party office with hand grenade in Kharadar during general elections, injuring more than 14 people.
The SSP further said that the accused Aqeel had also been arrested in 2011 and the further investigation was underway.
