Karachi: Rangers arrest 10 suspects in Kunwari Colony operation
KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers took as many as 10 people into custody during a targeted operation in Kunwari Colony and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The Rangers spokesman said that the paramilitary force was tipped off on the presence of anti–state elements in the area and a raid was carried out in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The operation led to the arrest of 10 suspects allegedly involved in heinous crimes. Weapons of 12 different calibers, including submachine guns and repeaters were seized. The paramilitary force has arrested several suspects in operations in troubles areas of the city in recent days.
They arrested 10 suspects in a search operation at Al Asif Square in Sohrab Goth area seized several weapons. In a raid in Orangi, 16 suspects including a high profile target killer were detained.
Rangers also rounded up 28 suspects, including activists of political parties, in raids Bin Qasim and Rabia City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The force conducted targeted operations in Shah Faisal Colony, Carnal Basti near Old Sabzi Mandi, Falakh Naz, Gulistan Society, Millat Town and Chanesar Goth, and arrested some suspects.
Twenty-five men, including political activists, were arrested in a raid near Bilawal Chowrangi in Clifton. Rangers also conducted operations in Malir’s Sector 5-G, Miran Nakka and Pakhtunabad, rounding up 13 suspects and recovering weapons. The paramilitary force’s crackdown on criminals has resulted in the latter retaliating and targeting Rangers’ personnel. A suicide bomber recently targeted a Rangers check post in Manghopir, killing two personnel of the paramilitary force and injuring five others.
